The secondary school’s three orienteering teams added to the school’s trophy tally with All-Ireland honours at the recent Schools Championships in Newcastle West, Co. Limerick. The three titles rounded off another successful season of orienteering in the school winning 11 of the 12 events on offer this year.
1st Year
The first years continued their strong and consistent season with five students finishing in the top nine. Individual bronze went to Aaron Desmond in a time of 26:19 on the 4km course. The team took the top prize beating second place Newton, Waterford by only two minutes.

2nd/3rd Year
The closest result of the event came in the 2nd/3rd year individual race when CBS’ Kuba Hofft secured his All-Ireland title by only 3 seconds. The team’s combined time (Fastest four count) retained the All-Ireland title with 10 minutes to spare over our near neighbours in Carrigtwohill CC.

Post Junior Cert – Senior
The Post Junior Cert team continued the senior-schools winning ways this time adding another Munster and All-Ireland title. As always, this event was very competitive with only 67 seconds separating 1st and 4th on the 6km course; however; it was Dan McDonnell who took the title with Frank O’Brien and Simon Upton finishing second and third respectively.

Well done to all the members of the school teams for your great achievements this year.
