After a brilliant victory two weeks ago claiming the Harty Cup for the 4th time the school progresses the the Masita GAA Post Primary Schools Croke Cup (Senior A Hurling) All-Ireland Series.
They face Colaiste Eoin of Dublin, the Leinster Schools runners-up next Wednesday 6th March @ 2pm in Nowlan Park, Kilkenny.
This is not CBS’ first appearance in the All-Ireland series having appeared on 4 previous occasions; last year being the most recent progressing as Munster Runners-up and losing a very close quarter final to Kilkenny CBS by a single point 0-16 to 2-09.

The school has appeared in the Final on two previous occasions, first in 1988 when they lost to St. Kierans of Kilkenny by 2-7 to 3-10. Seven years later the victorious Harty Cup team of 1995 also reached the final, this time losing to St. Raphael’s, Loughrea by five points on a scoreline of 3-10 to 3-05.
Standing in our way this year are Colaiste Eoin. The Dublin Gaelcholáiste lost the Leinster Final last Sunday 24th to the ever strong St Kieran’s by 7 points. 1-17 to 2-07. Kieran’s sealing their 56th Leinster title.
Colaiste Eoin made good progression through the Leinster Championship this year beating Kilkenny CBS 0-17 to 0-11 in the opening round. In the second round they had a comprehensive victory over last year’s Leinster champions Dublin North on a score line of 3-12 to 0-11. Colaiste Eoin then progressed to the semi-final where they again faced Kilkenny CBS. This time it was a much closer affair only taking the victory by a single point 1-14 to 1-13.
The school draws many players from Cuala, Kilmacud Crokes and Ballinteer St. Johns features a strong forward line with names to watch including Séamus Ó Fiachna and Odhrán Mac Gearailt; with Iain Ó hEithir leading the defense.
